Animated Eclipse Temperature and Brightness Graphs 4/8/2024
Here in Rochester, NY we were completely clouded over for every second of the eclipse. I took Sky Brightness and Temperature Measurements that still allowed us to "See" the eclipse. This is a quick "replay" of the eclipse data.
On the left is a graph of Temperature vs Sky Brightness.
On the right is a graph of Sky Brightness vs Time and Temperature vs Time.
Totality began at 3:20:19 PM and lasted 3.5 minutes.
Notice the Temperature lags the brightness by about 25 minutes.
I hope to do more processing of the data later, but I posted excel files of the raw data here:

At what angular velocity will an object slip off of a rotating rod. In this experiment we measure the angular velocity at which metal disks (slotted masses) slip off of a rotating metal rod. The critical velocity at which friction can not longer keep the "passenger" disk on the rod depends on the radial position of the rod and the coefficient of friction between the two surfaces.

I am having so much fun with desmos 3D. I made a simulation of N simultaneously released pendula. The motion is computed numerically using at Runge-Kutta algorithm. This allows for very large angles where the period is much longer than the simple pendlum formula predicts. The closer to 100 you get, the closer you are to the least square regression ("how the computer does it") line. Great stuff!!!! Thank you so much for your hard work doing this. I'm building my first one with 15 large nuts (49g each) I have my support rail built and drilled and I'm ready to install the string at the moment I'm going to use one long screw for adjustment of one side of the string on each of the nuts and go from there but I need a starting point obviously. And then I'm building my next one a little more sophisticated, I have (so farl 20 x 1 inch chrome stainless steel balls and plan on a minimalistic support framework along with mirrors one placed along the length on the bottom and one at the far end for visual impact. I don't know why but I'm fascinated by this whole topic. Again, thank you|

If you would like to play, go to this Desmos and drag the moon up or down to go from total, to partial, to no eclipse as the show goes above or below the earth. Move the moon closer to earth to get a total solar eclipse, and farther from the earth to get an annular solar eclipse.

I'm desperately trying to convert the bingo boards to a PDF file for my printing vendor. I'm not seeing how to 1) make the PDF conversion and 2) ensure we have 2 to a page. Hoping you can help me.....
I don't normally keep up with comments, but you sound desperate. Feel free to e-mail me the generated cards / file and I can try. You can print to pdf, it should be one of the printer choices. Or you can export. You *should* then be able to print that .pdf file to another pdf file and select 2 per sheet. But with thout the actual file, there is only so much I can do. Feel free to send to my user name at gmail.

i used this on windows 11 microsoft 2016 excell when generation numbers it crashes everytime but on my laptop where i have office 2010 it works perfect

Thanks! This was a lifesaver for me and it worked perfectly. One question, I inserted a small picture into the free space and it showed up under the Template A sheet but when I generated the new cards it showed an Excel VALUE error and the picture was not there. Not sure what i did wrong.

Okay,it works,but it makes a lot of noise,and stresses the vacuum. What you should do is apply some Sevin dust,doesn't take much,to the entrance. In a few days,all activity will stop. They track the powder into the nest,and poison their nest mates. I had a problem with wasps behind a gutter,and Sevin worked for me. Get yourself 12' of 1/4" plastic tubing,tape it to a long pole,and dip the business end in Sevin. Attach a dollar store baster to your end,and puff some dust on their landing pad,and that does the trick!

Fist is spray dish soap & water into the crack so you kill the non hatched brew in the nest and then caulk the opening so the issue doesn't happen again.

I've prepared clues for a 6x6 board; when I click free space on the start program menu, one is not added to my board -- any advice?

Unfortunately not. Text only. Unless you want to go through the trouble of using words to seed the boards and manually pasting pictures over the cells.
